Geyer is a risk taker, an environmental artist as well as a sculptor, he is interested in the systems of nature (gravity, erosion), and principles of physics and engineering (tension, balance), and their effects on materials such as glass, earth and wood. In his “Gravity Bend” pieces, one can virtually feel the force of gravity pulling down of bowed strips of glass. These pieces not only suggest danger, they play with it. Geyer looks at his art as research, continually testing the limits of materials against the laws of physics.
